Caring for People by Doing Practical Deeds, Solving Their Concerns and Warming Their Hearts

Kurezi Village is located at about 3 km northeast of Xietongmen County of Rikaze City (Shigatse), Tibet Autonomous Region. Kurezi Village is a purely agricultural village with an average elevation of 4,000 meters, 68 households and 301 villagers, and a sown area of 592 mu (39.47 hectares). The main crops of the village include highland barley, wheat, rapeseed, peas, and potatoes. Due to high altitude, thin soil, and no vegetation, the soil layer of the cultivated land is easily lost during rainy seasons or when the land is irrigated. This difficulty in maintaining water and soil severely impacts the quality and harvest of planted crops and the economic interests of locals.

The concerns of the public are never trivial. In order to effectively solve the problems of irrigation in Kurezi Village and truly mitigate the locals’ concerns and difficulties, the Party Branch Committee, Villagers’ Committee, and work team stationed at Kurezi Village jointly investigated and discussed the situation in a timely manner and contacted Weixinkang under the guidance and assistance of related district departments to ask for funding. In response, Weixinkang made a charitable donation of CNY 42,000 wherein CNY 19,300 was used for repairing and maintaining the canal for the cultivated land, including cement procurement and excavator and loader rental; CNY 9,300 was used for purchasing office supplies for the Villagers’ Committee of Qiangbu Village and teaching materials for the village kindergarten; and CNY 13,400 was used for purchasing arthritis medications and stationery for students in Bairang Village, Seni District, Naqu City. 

Upon the implementation of in-depth education and learning activities centering on the Party’s history in the entire district, Weixinkang actively responded to the call of relevant district departments by strengthening poverty reduction measures, facilitating village revitalization, promoting practical actions, and overcoming challenges for the locals. With the people’s interests in mind, after receiving the funding proposal for cement procurement and excavator and loader rental from Kurezi Village, Weixinkang sent its public welfare team to visit the village on March 22, 2022 and donated CNY 19,300 for the repair and maintenance of the cultivated land canals. Furthermore, the team also closely followed the progress of canal maintenance and cement procurement progress on site. This practice of “doing practical things for people” fully reflected the company’s spirit of the times, strong sense of responsibility and great love for society as a local Tibetan enterprise, and effectively solved the problems faced by local villagers of Kurezi Village, timely meeting their urgent cultivation and irrigation needs in the spring. 

During the on-site inspection, the public welfare team had a discussion with the two village committees as well as the village-stationed work team to better understand the actual difficulties faced by Kurezi Village. The team stated that Weixinkang has been committed to public welfare and charitable causes and has always cared for people’s health. The company would make every effort to take on the social responsibility of an enterprise and truly “do practical things for people” to address local people’s real concerns and worries. After the inspection, the team visited members of the two village committees and the village-stationed work team, and sent rice, flour, edible oil, and other life necessities to the village-stationed work team.

Weixinkang also proactively responded to the call of “10,000 Enterprises Helping 10,000 Villages” in Qiangbu Village, Kaga Town, Rizake City. After communication and consultation with the local village-stationed work team and the two village committees, the company provided office supplies (two Tibet-style desks and four Tibet-style chairs) for the Villagers’ Committee, and learning materials (children’s building blocks, enlightenment books, small cups, cup holders, water dispensers, and large cartoon trash cans) for the village’s kindergarten, totaling a donation of CNY 12,000.
